How to get your first writing client
A boring, reliable process that works better than a portfolio site.

Stop preparing. Start contacting.
Almost everyone who fails at freelancing fails during the preparation phase. They build a site, buy a domain, redesign a logo, and never send the email.
The ten-email method
- List ten businesses you genuinely find interesting.
- Read their content properly.
- Write one specific observation about it.
- Offer one concrete piece of work with a price.
- Send it. Follow up once, seven days later.
Specific beats polished. Every time.
The first client is a numbers problem disguised as a confidence problem.
