Books
Turn your expertise into an authority-building book.
A book is the slowest and most durable piece of writing you'll ever do. Done properly, it opens doors for years — speaking, clients, credibility that no amount of posting replicates.
These guides cover finding the idea, mapping chapters before you write a word, drafting at a pace that finishes, choosing between traditional and self-publishing, and how ghostwriting other people's books can pay considerably better than writing your own.
Most unfinished books fail at structure, not at prose. Start there.

Common questions
Books, answered.
- How much do authors make per book?
- Traditional royalties run around 7–10% on print and 25% on ebooks, on advances that for most business books sit between £2,000 and £10,000. Self-publishing pays far more per copy and sells far fewer without an audience.
- How long does it take to write a business book?
- Six to twelve months at a sane pace: a month on structure, four to six months drafting, and the rest editing. Ghostwritten books usually run faster because the process is contracted.
- What does a ghostwriter charge for a book?
- In the UK, £8,000–£15,000 is common for a straightforward business book and £20,000–£40,000+ for experienced ghostwriters on complex projects.
